• The Nola PDF sewing pattern provides you with an easy-to-follow, step-by-step guide. Each step is explained and accompanied by clear and detailed images.

• Imperial and metric measurements.

• All pattern pieces are made in full size, with no cutting on the fold. All pattern pieces are printable except for the handles. All square pieces are provided in measurements.

• Birthing the lining method.

• Can be sewn on domestic machine.

• Various techniques described.

The Nola Pattern comes complete with practical features:

• Pocket on the front is decorative and functional, it can hold smaller items that tend to get lost in larger bags (such as keys). A snap or magnet can be used to close the pocket.

• Two zipper pockets (one outside, one inside the bag) with zipper overlay template.

• A wide slip pocket that fits an 11” (28cm) tablet. If such a wide slip pocket isn’t needed, it can be stitched down the middle.

• Magnet closure.

• Webbing handles with accent material are easy to sew and really eye-catching.

• A magnet or snaps are installed on the sides, allowing the bag to be adjusted to achieve the desired shape – wide open when carrying many items or closed when carrying fewer.

• SVG file for the cutting machine for the zipper overlay and front snap/magnet pocket is included in the pattern.

Materials Needed – Imperial Measurements:

  • 1 yard (54’’ width of fabric) exterior: cotton canvas, vinyl, cork
  • 1 yard (54’’ width of fabric) lining fabric: waterproof canvas, quilting cotton
  • 1 yard (54’’ width of fabric) medium weight interfacing (foam/woven) for exterior
  • 1 yard (54’’ width of fabric) medium weight woven fusible interfacing for lining if using cotton
  • 1/4 yard (10’’ width of fabric) stabilizer (Decovil Light/Heavy) for bottom – optional
  • 2 x (1’’ x 29”) webbing for handles
  • if using zipper tape by the yard, cut two 9” lengths of #5 all-purpose zipper tape for the
    zipper pockets
  • 2 zipper pulls #5
  • 3 pairs of snap closures (2 pairs could be replaced with magnets (3/4’’) on the sides)
  • 2 pairs of magnet closures – size 3/4”
  • label/handmade tag – optional
  • 4 rivets – optional

  • 2 x (2.5 cm x 74 cm) webbing for handles
  • if using zipper tape by the meter, cut two 22 cm lengths of #5 all-purpose zipper tape for the
    zipper pockets
